Nepal Private Tours — local licensed guides for tailor-made Kathmandu tours

Nepal Private Tours — Private Guided Tours in Kathmandu

Featured Operator · Kathmandu, Nepal

Anil Manandhar grew up in this city. He knows the stories the temples don't tell.

Who he is

Anil Manandhar is a government-licensed guide, born and raised in Kathmandu, and a three-time recipient of the Global Guides Award (2016–2018). He is also one of the founding members of Nepal's Guide Association — a detail that says something about how seriously he takes the profession, not just the practice.

Nepal Private Tours was officially established in 2015, built around a team of experienced local guides with over two decades of combined professional guiding experience. Every guide on the team is a local of Kathmandu. That is not a selling point. It is the foundation of everything they offer.

What they do

Private and tailor-made tours across Kathmandu — half-day walking tours, full-day city tours, cultural and nature experiences, birdwatching, rafting, paragliding, hiking. The range is wide, but the center of gravity is always the same: Kathmandu, understood from the inside.

Their approach is simple — share how many days you have and what interests you. They handle the rest.

What makes them different

Most guides know the sites. Anil's team knows the city. There is a difference between knowing that the Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest in the world and knowing what it feels like on an ordinary Tuesday morning, what the monks are doing, what the neighborhood smells like, what the stories behind the walls are that no guidebook mentions.

They guide in English, Italian, German, Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Not because they translated a script — but because they have spent decades building genuine connections with visitors from across the world.

The experience

A walk through Kathmandu that starts where you are and ends somewhere unexpected. The temples, the courtyards, the medieval architecture of Patan, the banks of the Bagmati, the living traditions of a city that has been continuously inhabited for over a thousand years.

What stays is not the itinerary. It is the feeling of having understood something — about Nepal, about Kathmandu, about the people who have built their lives inside these stories.

What this says about Kathmandu

Kathmandu is one of the most layered cities in Asia. It rewards depth. A checklist tour through its UNESCO sites gives you photographs. A day with someone who grew up inside them gives you something else entirely.

Anil's team represents what local expertise actually means — not proximity, but belonging.
