RootsTravel indexes verified local operators offering direct booking. No OTAs. No intermediaries.
Most operators in our index are discovered through our TPDI methodology, based on direct observation in Google search results. If your business is not visible there yet, you can request a manual verification.
We do not accept bulk submissions or resellers.
If approved, you will be:
- listed on rootstravel.io
- included in the RootsTravel dataset and API
- discoverable by AI agents such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI
- assigned an ARI score measuring your readiness for AI discovery
What we verify
We review your website to confirm that:
- you operate the service yourself
- users can book directly with you, either through a booking engine, a form, or direct contact (email, phone, WhatsApp)
If your website mainly resells third-party tours, stays, or experiences, your submission will be rejected.
🚫 Important — Eligibility
You may NOT be eligible if:
- you are a travel agency or travel designer selling third-party services
- you do not operate the experience yourself
- your website only redirects to booking platforms (Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.)
Examples of NON-eligible operators: You're a travel agent booking others' hotels, you curate experiences but don't own the boat/hotel/restaurant, you're a middleman connecting tourists to local operators, you only have social media and redirect to Booking.com.
If any of these apply to you, your submission will be rejected.

This fee covers a one-time manual review of your website by a human using the TPDI methodology. It is not a subscription. Approval is not guaranteed.
If your submission does not meet our criteria for a verified direct operator, it will be rejected. This is a non-refundable review process.
